AI seat map detection

In the seat map editor you can generate a draft map from a venue image. Detection is a promoter authoring step only. Patrons on Get Tickets and staff on GO use the finished reserved seat map and inventory — not the detect step.

Before you start

  • Open the seat map editor from your promoter account.
  • Use a clear venue image: JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 20 MiB.
  • Plan to review and edit. Detection proposes a layout; it does not publish inventory by itself.

Generate a map from an image

  1. Open the seat map editor.
  2. Choose Generate from image (label may vary slightly in the UI).
  3. Upload the venue image.
  4. Wait while EventLinx analyzes the image.
  5. Review the proposed map (seats and other detected elements such as stages, tables, or exits, when found).
  6. Edit anything that is wrong (move, add, remove, or rename seats as needed).
  7. Save the map.
    • You can keep a draft, or mark the map verified when it is ready.
    • Placeholder seat names generally cannot be verified-saved — rename them first.
  8. Use the saved map when you set up reserved seating for a performance (the performance needs a seat map ID).

You can also start from scratch and place seats manually instead of generating from an image. See Seat maps and reserved seating.

What happens behind the scenes (short)

  1. The promoter app sends the image to the Promoter API seat-map predict endpoint.
  2. That API calls EventLinx seat-detect and returns a proposed layout.
  3. You review and edit in the UI.
  4. Saving uses the normal seat-map create/update path (Event via the Promoter API). Detect output is mapped into the saved map format — it is not the same payload as ticket inventory.

After reserved inventory is committed

When reserved inventory for a performance is committed, the map locks. You cannot keep editing a locked map the same way. Finish detection and edits before inventory is committed.
